Welcome to AdverseImpact.org!  Adverse impact is a substantially different rate of selection in hiring, promotion or other employment decision which works to the disadvantage of members of a race, sex or ethnic group.  It is not simply a black and white issue.  It is a complex issue that is influenced by legal, scientific, and social factors and these perspectives sometimes appear to conflict with one another. 

This website is dedicated to uniting those interested in the concept of adverse impact and the issues and dilemmas surrounding it. The mission of AdverseImpact.org is to share information among HR practitioners (both public and private), researchers, and attorneys in order to better understand the concept of adverse impact and ultimately work towards aligning legal, scientific, and societal goals that can be but into practice.
